Fuel vaporiser replacement and PAT or Eolys additive top ups across Kent, so your DPF can clear itself again.
DPF will not regenerate? This is very often why.
For a DPF to clean itself it has to reach a high temperature and burn the trapped soot away. Two systems help that happen, and when either fails the filter simply stops regenerating and blocks up, no matter how far you drive. Knowing which one your car uses is the key to fixing it properly.
On many Fords a fuel vaporiser, also called the fifth injector or additional nozzle, sprays a fine mist of diesel into the exhaust to raise the temperature. On a lot of Peugeot and Citroen models a fluid additive, known as PAT, Eolys or FAP fluid, is dosed from a small tank to lower the temperature soot burns at. We diagnose, repair the vaporiser or refill and reset the additive system, and often pair it with a DPF clean for the best result. Note this is not the same as AdBlue.
Both of these stop your DPF clearing itself, so it blocks and the warning lights come on. We fix both.
The fuel vaporiser, also called the additional nozzle or fifth injector, sprays a fine mist of diesel into the exhaust to get it hot enough to burn off soot during a regeneration. When it carbons up and fails, the DPF can no longer regenerate and you get warning lights, lost power and limp mode.
We diagnose the fault, replace the unit and test that the system is working as it should.
Some diesels use an additive, known as PAT, Eolys or FAP fluid, dosed from a small onboard tank. It lowers the temperature soot burns at so the filter can clear itself on a normal drive. The tank empties over time and once it runs dry the car stops attempting to regenerate at all.
We check the system, refill the additive tank and reset the parameters. It is not the same as AdBlue, and we will not confuse the two.
If your DPF keeps blocking or will not regenerate and a clean has not held, the cause is often one of these two. Tell us your make and model and what the dash is showing, and we will point you to the right fix. Many of these jobs go hand in hand with a DPF clean.
